Tempering represents a thermal process of glass processing in order to improve its stability, mechanical characteristics and security. Tempering is possible for all types of glass (except reinforced) in thickness 4-19mm, in the maximum dimensions of the pieces 400x214cm. The process takes place in a special drive in under controlled conditions, and consists of several stages.
Processed glass, depending on the type, size and thickness is heated to a temperature of about 650 C, to the softening point. Glass then transfers to the cooling phase, wherein the temperature rapidly lowers to 450 C. During this process the surface of the glass cools faster than the interior. With this process the surface of the glass remains tense on the pressure and the interior of the tension. This state contributes to a considerable improvement in the mechanical characteristics of the glass, that way it becomes more flexible, impact resistant and resistant to temperature variations. In case of breaking glass scatters into small rounded pieces and that way does not pose a risk of causing injury. All necessary glass processing (drilling, cutting, “kp”-processing) must be carried out before the tempering process. Post-treatment is not possible due to surface tensions during tempering.

Characteristics:
• Increased flexibility to 8 times compared to a “float” glass Resistance to thermal shock &high temperature up to 320C Increased resistance to shock Security of injuries in case of braking

Application:
• All types of facades
• Kitchen worktops
• Wall partitions and wall panels
• Canopies
• Fences and stairs
• Doors
